What Is AC?
An air conditioner (AC) is a unit that provides cold air in your home or any enclosed space. It removes humidity and heat from the indoor air and distributes it outside while returning cooled air into the spaces in your home. Air conditioners do not take air from outside into your home, instead, they cool down the air that is already in your home.
How An AC Is Made?
An AC uses a special chemical called refrigerant and three mechanical components, namely a condenser, an evaporator coil, and a condenser coil. The three mechanical components work together to swiftly convert the refrigerant from gas to liquid and then back again. The compressor raises the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant gas and conveys it to the condenser, where it becomes a liquid. The refrigerant passes through the evaporator coil and is cooled down and blown indoors by the fan. The cooled air is circulated in the indoor space, while the hot evaporated gas is sucked back into the compressor.
Is Filter Really Needed?
An AC uses a filter to remove impurities such as pet dander, pollen, dust, or even bacteria from the air that flows through the system. Air filters help to improve the air quality in your home and protect your AC system from damage. The air condition in our homes is less healthy than the outdoor air, as we spend most of our time indoors in tightly sealed spaces. Air filters also prevent us from acquiring allergies from the impurities that exist in indoor spaces.
Can You Use AC Without A Filter?
The answer is – no. Air filters play a vital part in AC operation as they not only improve indoor air quality but also protect your AC system from damage. Although your AC can operate without a filter, Aire One Heating and Cooling services in Toronto do not recommend it as this may lead to severe/costly damage to your AC system. If you run your AC without a filter then it may lead to condensation drain problems, air quality problems, ductwork problems, and much more.
