Simply turning your thermostat up to 5°C warmer than your typical temperature setting for 8 hours a day can save you up to 10 percent on your energy bills a year. For example, if you normally have your thermostat set to 20°C while you’re home, but you’re heading out of town, you should set the thermostat to 25°C. Though your house will be a bit toasty when you get home, your system will be all set to lower the temperature back down to a comfortable temperature.
